“Touch is the bass line to the melody of sight and hearing in the arts, that is, that touch keeps the artwork coherent and grounded” - Christopher Perricone, The Place of Touch in the Arts

With ART ATM I explore viewer interaction/participation in a gallery setting. I also expanded my knowledge of large AC motors controlled by electric relays by creating a carnival-type game (akin to the money booths where a participant enters a box, a fan is turned on, and the participant grabs as much money flying through the air as possible in a designated period of time).  Viewers are invited to become participants by inserting their hands and arms into the ART ATM in order to catch the airborne money; they are also encouraged to take the "money" (original artworks) home with them as a physical reminder of their experience. Instead of real money, I collaborated with 5 other artists, each of us creating a different variation (and denomination) of an existing tender note.  These original screen and lithograph prints were then given away to participants in the gallery. The silkscreened and litho printed bills/artworks were created by artists: Ned Bartlett, Katherine Davies, Geremy Lague, Matthew Mickleborough, Rowan Pantel, and Melissa Strachan.
