Transitions. Mixed Media, Public Installation, Regina Sk 2011.
Transitions explores the liminal space existence of in-between spaces, spaces frequently ignored for the very fact that they are in between points A and B. with this project I began my exploration into viewer interaction employing sensor-based input by creating a series of ten sculptures into a public space. This piece used motion sensors to activate audio when viewers entered the sensors’ field of view. This piece was placed into a public space, transforming a normally liminal space into an active space where viewers were encouraged to question their traditional use of the space as strictly a passageway.
